The Sweet Tomatoes chain offers a healthy smorgasbord of salads, soups, and veggies that kids actually enjoy.
Casual, colorful decor greets you as you enter the "buffeteria"-style restaurant. The selections are divided into separate areas, starting with salad. Create your own leafy masterpiece with fresh greens, cheese, veggies, nuts, and dressings, or try a prepared Asiago Caesar or other specialty salad. Creative pasta, potato, and gelatin salads rotate daily to round out these selections.
The soups, pizzas, pastas, and desserts are slightly hidden behind the seating area. At least three different soups are available daily, including vegetarian and low-fat options. Kids will love the made-to-order pastas. Just choose a noodle and sauce and the chef will whip up a fresh batch of Pasta Alfredo, Tuscany Sausage with capers and olives, and more. Focaccia pizza, cornbread, and muffins are also big hits, along with a soft-serve dessert bar (try the Heath Bar chunks on top of your vanilla ice cream - yummy).
Dining room attendants wander the floor to remove your used dishes and refill your drinks. Be sure to use the handy card on your table to let them know if you're getting more food or are finished. A small tip for great attendants is also appropriate and very much appreciated.
High chairs and changing facilities are available.
Sweet Tomatoes also offers Sunday morning brunch between 9am-12n, featuring scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, potatoes o'brien, freshly baked cinnamon chip biscuits, muffins, make-your-own breakfast burritos, and more.
