Temple Ohav Shalom Preschool, winner of our 2009 Parents' Picks Award for Best Preschool in Pittsburgh, offers age-appropriate programs, a creative staff, low teacher-to-child ratios, and a modern facility that combine to provide a positive, first formal educational experience in which the teachings of Jewish heritage are woven into each day's activities. Although the curriculum focuses on Jewish traditions, children from all religious and cultural backgrounds are welcome.

This is our third child to attend the Temple Ohav Shalom Preschool and we could not envision sending our son anywhere else. Our two older daughters were more than prepared for kindergarten. Excellent staff who truly love teaching our children plus a fabulous curriculum. The extended day is perfect for us working moms and the enrichment for the kids is great!

This is a wonderful, warm school. The teachers are very experienced, and the small class sizes lend themselves to such nurturing and individualized experiences for the children. My older son went for 3 years, beginning with Mommy and Me, and my younger son went for 2 years. They would still be there now except we moved to Philadelphia. The preschool, including the teachers and other parents and children, is pretty much the only reason we were sad to move!

An excellent preparation for Kindergarten. My daughter was reading by the time she left to go to Kindergarten, most of the others were not as prepared. Also a very warm and welcoming place for all kids and their parents.

The preschool is just the right size and the community is very welcoming. We are not Jewish and enjoyed learning about the traditions as part of the excellent preschool curriculum. My son did one year of preschool and one year of afternoon enrichment, he particularly enjoyed the afternoon enrichment.

The preschool at Temple Ohav Shalom is unsurpassed with the caring attention given to the children by a staff of wonderful teachers, combined with a well rounded educational beginning. I only wish my son could stay there for 8 years!!! I cannot say enough good things...you have to take a look for yourself!!

The teachers really get to know and care for the children as if they were their own. The facilities are nice and there is a real sense of community between the parents, teachers and children.
