The Basque Center is a cultural meeting place. It is located in the area referred to as the "Basque Block," which also contains the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, the Fronton Building, Gernika Basque Pub and Eatery, Calle Verde Restaurant, the Basque Market, and Leku Ona Basque Restaurant. In an effort to maintain Basque heritage and traditions, the center hosts Basque dancing, events, and gatherings. Two dancing groups for children are offered through the Basque Center: Boiseko Gazteak for ages four to 13, and the Oinkari Basque Dancers for ages 14 and up. The center can be rented out for private functions such as birthday parties, receptions, banquets, potlucks, etc. Call 208.331.5097 for details and to reserve the space. Every year the center hosts three major events; the San Inazio festival in July, the Mortzillak Dinner in November, and the Sheepherders Ball in December. Monthly dinners run from August through May.
