The Georgian Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel, located in the heart of Santa Monica. The 84-room Art Deco hotel offers families a relaxing stay with a wide variety of activities within walking distance.

We stayed in the family suite, a large, airy room (548 square feet) comprised of a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and foyer. In the living room, the ocean view affords a generous peek at Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier, a wide-expanse of beach. The queen-sized pullout sofa easily sleeps two kids and the chaise lounge works in a pinch for a third wee one. A small table works great for storing snacks or playing board games. Kids love having their own television - and parents are pleased to be able to close the privacy doors between the living room and the bedroom.

The bedroom's cozy reading chair and king-sized bed are comfortable and luxurious for parents. A second television offers the opportunity for parents and kids to relax with separate movies (or Nintendo) in the evening.

The spacious and impeccably clean bathroom is accessible from the bedroom or the foyer. Plush towels and robes add an elegant touch.

The hotel staff is warm and patient with children, and at-the-ready to offer assistance day and night. Other hotel amenities include 24-hour room service, fitness center, and business center; complimentary wireless internet access; complimentary weekday newspaper; same day laundry/dry cleaning services; a lovely lobby bar, and restaurant service inside or outside at The Veranda Restaurant. (We highly recommend the French Toast Souffle; it has a huge "Mmmmmm" factor!)

One of the best things about the hotel is its location. Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier is a don't miss stop, just a short walk away. Kids of all ages love the games arcade, bumper cars, and rides - including the vintage carousel.

Third Street Promenade is one of the most popular shopping districts in all of Los Angeles. The pedestrian-only blocks are chock-full of boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and movie theaters.

Throughout the year, it offers special packages, including a Family Safari which includes wrist bands for the Pacific Park rides, use of an activities lending library that includes lots of things to do with children in Los Angeles, milk and cookie turndown service, and toy goodie bags.
