Towson University is nationally recognized for its programs in the arts and sciences, communications, business, health professions, education, fine arts, and computer information systems. Additionally, the campus offers a wealth of cultural performances, arts programs for families, and camps for kids.
The
Towson Center is part of the 24-acre Towson University Sports Complex, located on Auburn Drive, off Osler Drive. The Towson Center arena seats 5,000 people for athletic events (Towson Tigers basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball), concerts, lectures, and other campus and community events.
The
Center for the Arts is located at the corner of Osler and Cross Campus Drives. It houses the Ruth Marder Studio Theatre, Harold J. Kaplan Concert Hall, Main Stage Theatre, and Center for the Arts Box Office. Also located in the Center for the Arts are the Asian Arts & Culture Center, the Center for the Arts Art Gallery, Holtzman MFA Art Gallery, and the offices of the Maryland Arts Festival, Music Preparatory Division and Community Arts Center.
In addition to the concerts, plays, dance performance, art exhibits, films and lectures presented throughout the academic year, Towson University offers programs specifically geared to kids and families. The
Willard Hackerman Academy of Mathematics and Science's science programs bring family entertainment, fun, and learning to campus. The
KidsCampus offers a wide range of programs and events throughout the academic year, and in the summer.
CommunityArts programs are available through the Music Preparatory, Community Arts Center, and
Children's Dance Division.
