Long ago,
University Circle was "on the outskirts" of town; today it's Cleveland's cultural center. The area is more or less contained along and between Mayfield Road, Bellflower Drive, Wade Oval Drive, and bordered on the south by
CWRU and
Rainbow Babies/University Hospitals.
Dozens of institutions - including the
Cleveland Museum of Art,
Children's Museum of Cleveland,
Karamu HouseMOCA and
Cleveland Museum of Natural History - are located on the circle or within easy walking distance.
The circle's magnificent architecture, green space, and many benches and picturesque seating areas make it a popular spot for strolling, outdoor concerts, and spontaneous picnics.
Like lots of centers of activity, traffic on the circle can be terrific - biking, walking, or taking
RTA is usually a good choice.
