The Washingtonian Center is a main-street style shopping experience with pedestrian-friendly streets lined with stores and restaurants. There is a central plaza which offers concerts and events throughout the year, a boardwalk (yes there are usually ducks or geese), waterfront dining, paddle boats (operate April-October), a playground, and a Courtyard by Marriott.

Anchor stores are Target, Kohl's, Barnes & Noble, and Dick's Sporting Goods. There are also plenty of family-friendly dining options, including Maggiano's Corner Bakery, Romano's Macaroni Grill, and Rio Grande Café.

Right next door is the The RIO Entertainment Center, which offers a few good dining options - like Guapo's Cantina, Tara Thai, and Hamburger Hamlet - in addition to an AMC Loews Rio Cinemas 18.
