Adjacent to the Chicago State University Grounds, Abbott Park offers a number of child- and family-friendly activities. In addition to the concerts and performances staged here, the park offers a spray swimming pool, basketball court, four tennis courts, four baseball diamonds, football and soccer fields and a playground for the little ones. The Rec building houses games like foosball and a pool table, and basketball and floor hockey are played indoors, though the gym is rather small. From September to June, Abbott offers an afterschool program for kids, and also offers classes in karate, dance, gymnastics, and photography. Teen Time occurs on weekdays for those 14 and older.
