Home to the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Philadelphia Opera, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Academy of Music is one of the city's premier cultural institutions.
The main hall (capacity 2,897) is constantly in use for concerts, operas, ballets, and other events. The Ballroom (capacity 350), whose design was inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, is the site of The Philadelphia Orchestra's popular Chamber Music Series.
Tours of the Academy of Music are available at various times throughout the year. The tours last one hour and include an historic overview of the Academy as well as a first-hand look at the backstage, lobby, and ballroom areas. Admission is $5 and reservations are required.

getting there:
From I-76 East: Follow I-76 East to Exit 38, Central Philadelphia. Exit onto 15th Street. Follow 15th Street south to Locust Street (approximately 1/2 mile). Turn left onto Locust Street. The Academy of Music is on your right. By subway, take Broad Street subway and exit at the Walnut/Locust stop.
