Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA 50009

Adventureland Park, Iowa's largest resort complex, has grown steadily over the past 34 years, and now includes an amusement park with more than 100 rides, shows, and attractions; Adventureland Inn, a hotel with almost 200 rooms and suites, three pools, and a casual restaurant; Adventureland Campground, which offers both tent camping and RV hook-ups, and restrooms and a pool; and new for 2008, Kokomo Kove, an enormous water park featuring slides, water jets, climbing structures, and more.

The amusement park is open daily from Memorial Day through mid-August, and weekends only in late April, early May, and from mid-August through September. Cost: Ages 10 & up $31; Seniors & Ages 4-9 $27; Limited use $21; Second day pass $15.50; Season pass $85. Parking is $5/vehicle.
