Alabama Veterans Memorial Park is a 21-acre park located on a wooded hilltop. The complex includes an Education Center, a historical timeline walkway, and a temple engraved with the 11,000 names of Alabamians lost to war in the 20th Century.
getting there:
From I-20, take Exit I-459 South (toward Tuscaloosa); take the Liberty Park exit; turn right and look for the entrance to the Memorial. From I-65 or Hwy. 280, take Exit I-459 North (toward Atlanta); take the Liberty Park exit; turn left, cross overpass, and look for the entrance to the Memorial.
