Aladdin's Eatery offers healthy (vegetarian) fare, fairly priced, in clean, comfortable restaurant settings.
While parents may love the Hummus and Falaffel, the kids' menu choices are more mundane; options for little ones include pita sandwiches as well as Chicken Tenders (with rice $4.45; with fresh fruit $4.75) but - take a deep breath - no French fries. The Kid's Menu Cheese Pitza, made with cheddar and feta, is often the best match for a finicky eater.
Fortunately, there are seven Pitza Pitas that may encourage kids to be more adventurous diners. (And we like the pizzas, too.) While most feature tahini sauce or vegetable (eggplant) puree instead of tomato sauce, the Greek Pitza looks like a more traditional pizza, and we haven't met a kid yet who doesn't like the Chicken Pitza ($5.95), with a honey mustard sauce and chunks of chicken tenders. An appetizer and a Pitza Pita is satisfying for light eaters. For hungrier diners, we recommend the Mediterranean Shishkebob Plate ($10.95), with lean beef shishkebob over white rice, topped with pine nuts, almonds, and cinnamon.
And there's good reason to finish your dinner: dessert. Aladdin's gourmet cakes and cheesecakes (Chocolate Fantasy, White Chocolate Raspberry, German Chocolate, Heath Bar, Kit Kat, Lemon, and more) are always available, but only a few flavors at a time. Special orders can be accommodated with a few days' notice, and we like them better than any bakery cake for special celebrations at home (they're available for whole-cake take-out.)
In a few visits to a few of Aladdin's outposts, we've found restaurants uniformly clean and service uniformly good and friendly.
Most restaurants have high chairs and changing stations.
