About Alamo Drafthouse

The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best place for a parents' night out in Austin, Alamo Drafthouse is predominantly a movie theater for adults, but does offer occasional children's programming and special events. Patrons under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent, and children under six are generally not admitted unless otherwise noted.

The theater hosts a weekly Baby Day for parents with infants, featuring regular, first-run shows that start before 2:05pm on Tuesdays. Alamo Drafthouse offers an extensive dinner menu - this is not your typical hot-dog-and-popcorn cineplex. The bar features dozens of draft beers, wines, and soft drinks. Food and drinks are served to your seat while you watch the movie.
