Shepard Park, named after astronaut Alan Shepard, is located just a few blocks south of the Cocoa Beach Pier.
The five-acre city park, featuring six miles of oceanfront, is a popular spot for surfing and shuttle-launch viewing. Beach chairs are available for rent; the park also features 10 large picnic pavilions and several covered picnic tables. Showers and restroom facilities are available.
Ron Jon Surf Shop, a popular tourist stop, is just one block west of the park.
