The Alcott Arts Center first opened in 1923 in KCK as the Louisa May Alcott Grade School, but since 2002 the school has been repurposed into a thriving art center, offering classes and workshops in drama, dance art, and music.
The center also hosts visual art exhibitions and has a 75-seat theater for dramatic performances.
