about Alpharetta Branch:

The Alpharetta Branch, of the Atlanta-Fulton Library System, is the winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the best Library for Big Kids in the Atlanta area. The branch hosts ongoing storytimes for infants and toddlers each Tuesday, and boasts a nice-sized Hispanic children's book collection. Special programs geared toward younger children take place throughout the year. Children under the age of 13 who want to register for a library card must have the library card application signed by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian must supply identification that shows the current residential address. By signing the child's application, the parent or guardian accepts the responsibility for all items borrowed on the child's library card. The child who is registering for the library card must be present or the parent must supply identification for the child.

getting there:

From the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Hwy. 9 (Alpharetta Hwy.), go north on Hwy. 9 to the sixth traffic light past North Fulton Medical Center. Turn left at this traffic light onto Mayfield Road; go west on Mayfield one block to the traffic light. The branch is ahead on the right. Go straight through the traffic light, up the hill in front of the branch to the first drive on the right. The parking lot is behind the building.
