about American Adventures:

American Adventures is Georgia's only amusement park created for families with children 12 and under. Its outdoor activities include amusement rides (tilt-a-whirl, scrambler, super slide, miniature roller coaster, and bumper cars, plus smaller-scale rides for tots such as trains, planes, teacup twirl, and miniature Ferris wheel), an 18-hole mini golf course, and a go-cart track. When the Hotatlanta days hit, kids of all ages flock to the 40,000 square foot (indoor!) Foam Factory and arcade. The Foam Factory is a multi-level family fun house, featuring foam balls that are catapulted from more than 80 different launchers, and turbo blasters strategically placed on three-story towers. Targets, turrets, and baskets can be filled and emptied onto people below, with giant tower-topping dumpsters that tip over the entire area every few minutes. A birthday party Super Pack includes 10 arcade tokens, unlimited use of the Foam Factory, unlimited use of the Fun Forest, and mini-golf. You'll also have 45 minutes of reserved seating time, during which each child receives one slice of cheese pizza, one slice of cake, and a drink. Also included is one free parent admission per birthday guest, and free parking. The Deluxe Package includes all of the items in the Basic Package plus gift bags & ice cream for each guest, and a balloon and T-shirt for the birthday child. Magic Jeff Birthday Shows are offered on Saturdays and Sundays, and include a performance filled with comedy, music, audience participation, live animals, and funny props. Birthday party reservations can be made by calling 770.590.4054; eight children minimum. Season Passes begin at $19.99 for children under 36", and $34.99 for children over 36". The pass includes unlimited visits and a bonus coupon book. An on-site restaurant offers fast food fare.

this post is for teri and the person that is anonymous what you fail to understand is that this park was intended for children under 12 that is why there are no larger rides. no one is stopping you from going to the bigger parks. this place was perfect for my 4 year old and we are very sorry to see it go.

American Adventures has just announced that it is shutting its doors for good. On the website it states: Effective immediately, American Adventures is closing its doors. We are grateful for the opportunity to have served the surrounding Atlanta community for the last 20 years. Thank you for your patronage!--- While visiting the park a white water employee stated that one option for the Six Flags company, once ending an agreement with Zuma Fun Centers, is to expand the Six Flags White Water property using the land from Amerivcan Adventures. Another option was to sell the land to help with the Six Flags bankruptcy. Hope this helps: Jake C. Byrd

My children are 2, 3, and 8 years old and had a great time. This place specifically advertises for children that are up to the age of 12, so if you have older children, I probably would recommend another location. This was perfect for our young family!

We have a two-year-old and this place was perfect for him! He loved the rides so much that he couldn't get enough and cried when we left. There were hardly any lines for the rides and we were able to ride several times without getting off. What I liked most about the park is that the rides accommodated both parents and children. There was even a really cool indoor "foam" playroom, where kids (and adults) can have fun throwing soft nerf-style balls at each other, or just playing in them as our son did (really nice when it is hot outside). It was a wonderful time had by all! The only negative thing I can think to say is that I wish there were more rides, as the park only had about 10. Note - if your child is over 12 yrs old, they are probably too old and will think the park is childish, as noted in the other comments.

My son is four, and does not need Six Flags. The previous two reviews were written out of ignorance; they did not take into consideration that their own kids are too old for American Adventures. I like this place because it is self-contained and not overwhelming when you are wanting to have fun with your preschooler and not worry about getting lost in the crowd. It reminds me of a mini-Nelly Bly -- a kiddie amusement park where I grew up in Brooklyn.

American Adventures is a baby amusement park. It has nothing for kids over 12 years old. It's the lamest amusement park in Atlanta. It gives a bad name to Atlanta and I would suggest that some fun should be added to that lame park. Get some huge rollercoasters like Six Flags maybe. You don't have to completely change your theme, but you should have sections. It's a ruin to someone's Spring Break. If I were forced to go there, which I am being by the way, then I would cry. That place needs to be closed down permanently.
