American Girl Place is a lot like its Chicago progenitor: a doll-loving little girl's dream come true. And why not? This unique store has three floors full of American Girl dolls and paraphernalia - clothes and accessories for the dolls, matching clothes for the girls, and books about the dolls. Not to mention a hair salon and doll hospital.
At the third floor cafe, girls may dine with their dolls using doll-size high chairs that attach to the tables. The menu is pretty sophisticated and includes fish, chicken, steak, and pizza. The American Girl regulars we talked to raved about the desserts. Lunch, tea, and dinner seatings are available seven days a week. Brunch is available on weekends.

American Girl's bathrooms, on the Mezzanine level, are clean and supervised - a handy thing to know about if you're in the area. The changing table is in the last stall.
