    about American International Rattlesnake Museum:

Located southeast of Historic Old Town Plaza, the American International Rattlesnake Museum houses more species of rattlesnakes than most zoos. Exhaustive information including the genus, species, origin and history of each snake is provided.

The Museum was formerly a gift shop and still sells some of the usual Old Town trinkets in addition to having a good selection of snake memorabilia.

Parties: Birthday Tours include an information/question session, an opportunity to touch and hold the snakes, a certificate of bravery for each child, a T-shirt and zoo book for the birthday child, and an instant photo in a snake handler frame for each child. Cake and ice cream are available for an additional charge. Call for information and reservations.

    Closed major holidays.

The Rattlesnake Museum is within walking distance of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, The Albuquerque Museum, Explora, and Tiguex Park.
