We had a great experience over the summer with American Kenpo Karate with their summer camp. We enrolled in their camp for 9 weeks and it was great. Every day my child came home excited about everything they did that day. After going to several other camps in the past I would say my child has loved this one the most. All the staff was great with the campers. They were always pleasant and very helpful every time we dropped off and picked up my child. The trips they went on every day was great and made the camp so exciting, plus learning Martial Arts and fitness. We loved the camp so much we are going continue the program with the After School Program. I would highly recommend American Kenpo Karate Studio to everyone. We have enrolled in the After School Program and its Great! The program and the staff are great!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND anyone send there child to American Kenpo Studio in Reisterstown, Maryland. Our son has not attended the studio for over 4 months however we just discovered that American Kenpo Studio has been charging our credit card despite sending an email stating that he will no longer attend Karate. We called American Kenpo Studio to dispute the charges and were told they would look into it and call back the same night. We received a phone call the next day stating that they could not find the email. My wife apparently called to tell them they were looking under the wrong account. I called unknowing my wife had called and was asked if I would consider re-enrolling my son in the future and they could see about waiving the fee for fees already paid provided they found the email that was sent saying that our son would not be re-enrolling in Karate. It was explained that it is difficult to have the billing company issue a refund. I responded that I was not too terribly comfortable re-enrolling my son for a waived fee considering that they have been charging us for the past 4 months despite him not being there. I also apparently made the mistake of saying I thought this was a bit "fraudulent" considering each student is required to scan their card upon entering the studio, therefore provided a clear record that my son has not been attending for the past 4 months, yet he was still charged based on them not finding or making note of our email stating he would not be attending past his first three months. I then made the mistake of saying that I likely will not have any other recourse than to call my credit card company to have them place a stop payment on charges from American Kenpo Karate Studio. In addition I was told I was being threatning when I further responded that in addition my only other recourse would be to post comments and reviews about my negative experience. I was ultimately told that I should have immediately noticed charges made on my credit card and that the person I talked to would not continue her conversation with me since I was not acting like an adult and speaking in a threatening manner. My wife was told that they would check with her email address from approximately 4 months ago to see if they could find her email stating our son would no longer be attending Karate at American Kenpo Studio in Reisterstown. At this point I am doubtful they will find the email and do the right thing and credit the money they have been charging our credit card. If considering attending this studio make sure you do not provide a credit card number.
