about American Repertory Theatre:
The
American Repertory Theatre, or A.R.T., is a not-for-profit resident theater. Operating in association with Harvard University, the theater performs a wide range of works including: new American plays, neglected works from the past, and new interpretations of classic texts.
Most A.R.T. performances are staged at the Loeb Drama Center. The A.R.T. is also one of the few theater groups in the country that serves as a professional training ground with programs in acting, directing, and other areas of performing arts.getting there:
From North or South, take Route I-93 to the Storrow Drive exit, following signs for Cambridge. Exit at Harvard Square, turn right onto John F. Kennedy Street and cross the river and Memorial Drive. Turn left onto Eliot Street, left again onto Bennett Street, continue past the Charles Hotel on your left and turn left onto University Road; the entrance to the University Place parking garage is immediately on your right. If you're coming by car, park at University Place Garage, 124 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge. Call 617.491.0801 to check current rates and be sure to bring the parking ticket to the theatre box office or reception desk for validation. It will also validate for the Holyoke Center garage (617.492.9602) and the Charles Hotel garage (617.491.0298).
