Arts in Action, founded by artist and award winning art educator Angela Tripi-Weiss, is a process oriented visual arts program that demystifies the process of drawing, painting, and sculpting in a logical and analytical way, empowering children to create with confidence. Each lesson introduces the concept of one or more skills and concepts, along with materials and techniques for implementation.
Classes are available for students of all ages, from toddlers through adults. Kids with special needs are welcome.
Summer Art Camp participants take a weekly trip to a museum, create art in
Central Park, and work in the studio, exploring a variety of fine art skills, concepts, and materials. Camp is open to kids ages five through 12 and is offered in two-week sessions that meet Monday to Thursday, from 1pm to 4:30pm.
Arts in Action also offers
Portfolio Development for tweens and teens interested in creating a fine art portfolio to present for entry into specialized high schools (such as
LaGuardia) and colleges.
