If the kids "feel the need for speed," this is the place, and the Atlanta Motor Speedway welcomes families. Children in reserved seat areas must have a reserved seat ticket, but on Fridays children under 12, with paying adult, can watch the races for free. On Saturdays and Sundays, reduced rates for kids are in effect.
Book a tour of the Speedway, through the gift shop; call in advance to ensure availability. Tours run on the hour and half hour, and include a segment on track history, a visit to the Petty Gardens, and a tour of the infield, victory circle, and pit road. Visitors close the tour with two laps around the 1.54-mile quad oval and a visit to a VIP suite. Speedway tours are not available during race week.

getting there:
From Downtown: Take 1-75S to exit #235, approx. 15 miles from downtown Atlanta. Continue onto US Highway 19 & 41 S for another 15 miles; the Speedway is on the right.
