about Audubon Center for Birds of Prey:

Maitland's Audubon Center for Birds of Prey nurses more than 650 injured or orphaned birds of prey annually. It handles the largest volume of eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, and kites east of the Mississippi River and is a leader among all North American rehabilitation centers for specialized eagle care. At any given time, some 20 different species are available for public viewing.

Visitors to the facility can tour Audubon House, the historically registered 1920s bungalow style Florida home, explore a boardwalk and gazebo overlooking Lake Sybelia, and view demonstrations on man-made wetlands, native plants, and the unique adaptations and natural habitats of birds of prey.

The center also features adopt-a-bird programs, summer camps, and numerous special events throughout the year.

Families are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the facility. The center also provides guided tours for groups of 10 to 30, for a $100 charge. Guided tours must be scheduled in advance. Offsite programs are also available.

Volunteer opportunities are available.
