Austin Rowing Club offers affordable classes and private lessons for kids and adults interested in the sport. Class members receive instruction in both sculling (rowing with two smaller oars, one in each hand) and sweep rowing (rowing with both hands on one larger oar.) People who successfully complete the course can be checked out to use the Club's entry-level boats. The ARC junior rowing team, for high school students, is one of the most competitive in the State. ARC also has a non-competitive junior program that meets during the school year.
