Aventura Mall is anchored by great department stores such as Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Macy's Men, Home and Furniture, JCPenney and Sears, and is home to shops that carry designer clothing and designer gifts for the most discriminating taste. Not to mention one of the best indoor playgrounds we've ever seen.
Adventurer's Cove at Aventura is reason enough to visit this great mall. The padded floor makes landings soft, and no one over 4 feet tall is allowed in (except for a stray parent or two). The centerpiece is a huge pirate ship kids love to climb on and steer, and the pirate theme is echoed in the soft sculptures of dolphins. It's the largest indoor mall playground in South Florida.
In addition, the Kid's Adventure Club (for kids 12 and under) hosts themed monthly events featuring local talent and fun for the entire family. Membership is free and includes first-hand notice of Kid's Adventure Club upcoming events, monthly newsletter, priority seating at selected events, and special merchants discounts.
Kids' clothing stores include babyGap, GapKids, Gymboree, Jacadi, Kid Cool Collections, Kidz, Lakeview Drive Baby, Limited Too, and Stride Rite. Toys are fully represented by such kid magnets as Store of Knowledge, The Disney Store, and the LEGO Store.
The AMC movie theatre is home to 24 screens.

The playground rules are a bit tight, I suppose, but we still like it. I've never actually been handed a list of rules although my friend was told to put socks on her son. I think it's a health issue; the attendant told me sometimes kids get sick on the floors there and stuff. There is a good food court for kids upstairs so we usually have pizza after character Wednesday!
I'm all for some regulations...but this play area is ridiculous. They have an attendant at the entrance handing you a paper listing the rules. My 6 year old was not allowed to play b/c she was "too tall", all kids MUST wear socks, don't even think of bringing in a bottle of water..no food or drinks. It is a huge difference to the free for all playarea they had before. I think that Aventura management has gone overboard in this case. I have never felt more unwelcomed than in this playarea.
The playground was wonderful. Unfortunately the mall is undergoing some "beautification" so the playground has been removed. Don't know if it will be replaced when the remodeling is done. We sure hope so. It was a great place to take kids on rainy or super hot days.
