We took the Sign, Say, & Play class and loved it! Lots of fun signs, songs, and activities! Our baby is now telling us all kinds of things we never would have known if she couldn't sign! As mentioned in the previous review, some of the signs (only about 5%) are modified from ASL (to make them easier for babies to sign successfully at an earlier age), but parents have the flexibility to use ASL signs if they would rather. We loved the class and highly recommend it to others!

This is a great way to reduce the frustration parents and child have before the child can actually talk. While Baby Signs does not use true ASL signs they do about use 80% of the ASL signs. The remaining times they do alter due to a little childs dexterioty and ability to do complex signs. As long as a parent/caregiver knows what the child wants or needs that is the key to aid in parent child bonding and learning and communicating at such a young age. As a high school teacher who teaches sign language to others this is a great way to let the Child learn to communicate before they can talk.

I took this class to learn to sign with my baby. However, I realized that a lot of the signs are not true American Sign Language Signs. BabySigns makes up some signs. I will now look for someone who teaches real sign language!
