Given the option, wouldn't we all prefer to drink coffee or eat a salad with our toes in the warm sand and our gaze turned to the sea? When it comes to view, Back on the Beach Cafe slays the competition. Adjacent to the Annenberg Community Beach House, this little beach cafe has indoor and outdoor seating and an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean.

During the summer months, the restaurant stays open late enough to watch the sun set during dinner. All year round, it's a fab place for a coffee play date, since the beach playground is right next to the outdoor table.

Oh, yeah - and the food is good, too. The kids' menu has all the standards - burgers, pasta, grilled cheese, chicken strips - while adults can enjoy a variety of yummy salads and sandwiches. Breakfast looks pretty good, too!

Back on the Beach is accessible from the beach bike path, or from PCH (requiring parking in a pay lot).
