Truly a resort compound, the Bahia occupies its own fourteen acre peninsula surrounded by more than a mile of the white sand beaches of Mission Bay. The clever landscape design of the resort belies its size: its 325 guest rooms are situated in widely spaced, low-lying buildings interspersed with lawns, gardens and beaches, which give it a peaceful feel. The spacious rooms have been designed to provide a magnificent experience in a casual family-friendly atmosphere. Many of the rooms open directly to the beach and have kitchen facilities. The grounds include a heated pool and large family spa, tennis courts, bike and walking paths, and a children's playground. Tennis and sailing lessons are available, as are bicycle, sailboat, pedalboat, and catamaran rentals. There are two restaurants on-site: the more adult Tangier Bar/Piano Lounge with a European flare, and the casual Bahia Cafe.
