Ballet Petite's specialized curriculum is designed specifically for younger children, and is an intermediate step between natural movement and formal classical ballet training, progressing from creative movement to pre-primary ballet through age five. Ballet Petite brings together fundamental dance instruction with costumes, props, music, and acting, and the enchantment of fairytales and ballet stories. Ballet Petite also offers classes in Kindermusik Sign and Sing and Musical Theater.

The Youth Performing Arts School provides more advanced instruction in ballet, musical theater, jazz, tap, acting, and voice for children six and older.

Classes are grouped by age at first, with the younger two- and three-year olds dancing with their parents or caregivers. Four- and five-year olds progress to pre-ballet and tap classes on their own. Classes for children six and up are based on ability. New students can call to arrange a free trial class.

Summer and winter camps are offered for kids two and a half and older (half days for the little ones), with themes ranging from Dr. Seuss to American Girls to Broadway.

Budding ballerinas can also have a birthday party in one of the studios. Call for more details.

First of all, I would never recommend Ballet Petite, not even to my worst enemy for a simple reason, they donâ??t care about the children.
My daughter started in Ballet Petite about 8 months ago and everything was OK. In Valentineâ??s week, we brought one of my daughterâ??s school friends to class. She came back for a trial class and, this time, we brought another school friend for a trial class. They both decided to register but couldnâ??t go to my daughterâ??s class because it was full.
We asked Ballet Petite to put the 3 girls in the same class and, since my daughter was 2 months too young for that specific class, we asked for an exception. It took them almost a week to be able to make such a â??difficultâ?? decision and finally, they said they donâ??t make exceptions. One needs to keep in mind that the exception we are talking about would affect only the 4 last classes of the session. They also said that for the following session, they could all be together. So, my daughter is not ready to join that class now (because she is too young) but will be ready in 4 weeks. I wonder what will change in 4 weeks. I will not even try to go into details on the nonsense I heard from the director over the phone.
Last Saturday my daughter saw her friends and wanted to go to class with them. I couldnâ??t explain to her why she couldnâ??t and she just laid down on the floor and wept. If I couldnâ??t understand why Ballet Petite is so insensitive, inflexible and unreasonable, how could I explain it to a 3 year old child? That was heart breaking and no mother should go through it again. My daughter may end up hating ballet and Ballet Petite doesnâ??t care at all, even after we brought 2 new students to them (without receiving any compensation).
My daughter will not continue in Ballet Petite because for no acceptable reason, they decided to cause a deliberate emotional distress in my 3 year old daughter. There are other ballet studios with a more professional attitude and we will have trial classes.
