This open-air shopping mall is in the heart of downtown Miami. People often migrate here before or after an event at the American Airlines Arena and Bayfront Park, located just South of Bayside, or for lunch after a morning at the Historical Museum of South Florida or the Miami Art Museum.
Grab a bite at one of a multitude of restaurants, including Bubba Gump's Shrimp, Hard Rock Cafe, Chicken Connection, and Chili's.
Shopping is also plentiful here, with kid standards The Gap, The Disney Store, Kid's Foot Locker, and Toy Zone featuring Sanrio "Hello Kitty" items.
If you're looking for further distractions for an afternoon, climb aboard an Island Queen Cruise and see Miami from the Bay.
The Marina Stage has live music, often with a Latin flare, playing every afternoon and evening.
Bayside also has a carousel, kiddie train, a bungee jump amusement, and an adventure simulator capsule that imitates the experience of walking on the moon, flying a fighter jet or going on a roller coaster.

Avoid driving here before or immediately after an arena event - it's a bit of a nightmare!
getting there:
From the south, take I-95 north to Biscayne Blvd. exit. Continue straight off exit ramp to Biscayne Blvd. (road dead ends here) and turn left. Enter Bayside parking at NE 3rd Street. From the north, take I-95 south to I395 east. Exit Biscayne Blvd. and head south. Turn left at NE 5th Street and enter the Bayside parking garage on the immediate right. By rail, take Metrorail to Government Center, then take Metromover to College/Bayside. You'll need to walk one block east.
