This man-made sandy beach leads to a spring-fed lake with adventure kiddie pool, slides, sun deck, and water trampoline with aqua log attachment, a skim board area, barracuda beach bikes, five water slides, an adventure kiddie pool, sand volleyball courts, an indoor playground for ages 12 and under, and a six-acre lake with geyser fountain. The park also hosts an arcade and mini-golf for those who need a break from the water. Covered pavilions are available for rental with water, electricity, and grills. Advance reservations are required. Catering also available for parties of 50 or more.
tips:
The beach is inside Clayton County International Park; a park within a park. Thursdays is Group Outing Day: with groups of 20 or more, all chaperones admitted free. Kids two and younger are required to wear swim diapers. No food is permitted from outside, but non-alcoholic drinks in plastic bottles or cups are allowed.
getting there:
I-75 South to exit 228 onto GA-138 toward Jonesboro. GA-138 becomes Stockbridge Road.
