Average Class Size: Toddlers: 9 students; Nursery: 12-18 students Beacon Hill Nursery School is an independent nursery school that also offers Kindergarten classes. It's located in the same building as Hill House. It offers several class options, with times varying according to program selected. Morning programs are offered for nursery, toddler, and Kindergarten classes. Nursery school hours run from 8:45am-12pm; Kindergarten ends at 2pm. BHNS has early drop-off available from 8:30am-8:45am. The extended day programs are offered to nursery school children from 12n to 3:30pm. Parents may also choose to send their children all day, from 8:45am-5:45pm. The all-day program combines children from all classes. Tuition for extended day is determined by number of days and program of choice. Children admitted into the nursery program must be 2.9 years of age by September 1st. The age requirement for Kindergarten is 4.9 by September 1st, and depends on individual readiness. The Admission process begins with the completion of an application. Each family is then contacted, and a visit is scheduled. Parents meet with the Director and Associate Director. In the Spring, children visit the school and classrooms in small groups. Application deadline is January 15. Priority is given to siblings and returning families.
