about Bellevue Botanical Garden:
Bellevue Botanical features 36 acres of display gardens, woodlands, meadows, and wetlands. Highlights include the NPA Perennial Border, Waterwise Garden, Yao Japanese Garden, Alpine Rock Garden, and summer displays of dahlias and fuchsias.
It's the site of popular public performances and special events, such as the gorgeous Garden d'Lights light display during the holidays.
Free guided tours are offered each Saturday and Sunday, Apr-Oct, at 2pm (reservations are not necessary). Meet at the lovely Visitor Center. Children's tours are available for first through sixth graders. Call 425.451.3755 to schedule.
tips:
If you visit from Apr-Oct with kids, ask for a Treasure Hunt Map at the Visitor Center. The whole family (or older kids on their own) can use the maps for a fun self-guided tour.
getting there:
From I-405, take the NE 8th Street E exit, turn right on 120th Avenue by Larry's Market. Go south and along the curvy road 3/4 mile to the first light and turn left onto Main Street. The Gardens are up the hill about three blocks and on your right.
