The picnic pavilion, playground, and soccer and baseball fields are nice, sure, but it's the Water Spray Park that kids love most at this city of Mentor park.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day each year, preschool-age and older kids enjoy playing and getting sprayed by more than a dozen mounted water spigots, including ones in the shape of an elephant and a sunflower. The spray can be activated by children - even short ones - but parents must supervise children at all times in the large (3,000 square foot) spray area. What we love most: it's free!
Water socks or shoes with non-skid soles are highly recommended in the water play area.
Bellflower Park also has plenty for older kids (and their parents), from tennis and basketball courts to a small fishing pond.
The picnic pavilion can be rented by calling the Parks and Public Land office at 440.974.5720.
