Learn to Irish Dance, make friends, and have fun!



Who? : Molly Curran-Burns, T.C.R.G.
Where?: Jeanne Ruddy Performance Garage (1515 Brandywine Street)
When?: Monday (Starting 10/1/12) (4-5 pm Ages 4-7) (5-6 pm Ages 8 & up)



About the Class: Students will start by learning to count bars of music, attain proper turn out/foot placement, as well as the basic 'jump 2,3' and 'side step' movements in Irish Dance. These are required to execute the Reel, Jig, and Slip Jig and Ceili dances (group dances). They will also benefit from a structured warm-up and cool-down required for any physical activity.





About the Instructor: After 4 years of ballet and jazz, Molly began Irish Dancing at the age of 8. She instantly fell in love with the dynamic and challenging aspects of the cultural art form. Through hard work, dedication, and passion, Molly has competed and placed in several international competitions including the prestigious World Irish Dancing Championships, the North American Irish Dancing Championships, and All-Ireland Dancing Championships. She represented the Mid-Atlantic Region as a 7-Time World Qualifier.
Aside from competition, Molly has had the opportunity to perform in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center along with notable Irish musicians including The Cheiftans, Cherish the Ladies, Anthony Kearns, Eileen Ivers, and James Patterson to name a few.




In February of 2012, Molly passed the rigorous T.C.R.G. Exam in Los Angeles, CA. This is an international certification which recognizes her as an officially licensed Irish Dance Instructor with the An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commission).




Molly looks forward to teaching and sharing her excitement and enthusiasm of Irish Dance with children of all ages. She hopes that her students will have the chance to enjoy the benefits of friendship, fitness, and fun!
