about Blue Spring State Park:

Blue Spring State Park, the largest spring on the St. John's River, features crystal clear, 73-degree water.

The waters are a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and diving (for certified scuba divers only), as well as canoeing and kayaking. Scuba divers must register at the entrance station between the hours of 8am and 3pm; no one may dive without up-to-date certification and a partner.

Blue Spring is a designated manatee refuge, and, because of this, the springs are closed to all water-related activities during the winter season, from November 15 through March 1. Swimming or diving with manatees is strictly prohibited.

Primitive campsites, which include water, electricity, and a grill, are available. The park also houses six two-bedroom cabins which are available for rental. Call 800.326.3521 (TDD 888.433.0287) for details. The park also offers a Bedtime Story Camper Lending Library, which loans age-appropriate books to children ages four to nine - many of which offer information about the native wildlife. Books can be checked out at the Ranger Station.
