Philadelphia's
Boathouse Row - one of the city's most cherished and scenic locales - is home to the Schuylkill River boathouses of the
Schuylkill Navy, an association of boating clubs organized in 1858, and
Lloyd Hall, a community recreation center and a public boathouse for Philadelphia.
Nestled between Kelly Drive and the Schuylkill River in
Fairmount Park,
Boathouse Row is the site of numerous
annual boating events, including the Dad Vail Regatta and the Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival. At night, the boathouses are outlined by strands of white lights, creating
a picturesque landscape on both sides of the river. In the week leading up to Independence Day, the lights on
Boathouse Row are red, white, and blue.
Restrooms in Lloyd Hall, open daily from 7am-9pm, and are accessible from both inside and outside the building.
