The Boise Public Library Main Branch invites all residents of Boise and those who own property within Boise city limits to pick up a free public library card at the Main Branch or at any other Boise Public Library branch. Two form of ID are required to receive a card - a photo ID and proof of current address. A parent or legal guardian must be present and show photo ID and proof of current address in order for a child under the age of 18 to get a library card. Nonresidents can get a card for a fee.
Computers are available for public use at the library. The computers in the Youth Services area are reserved for visitors under the age of 18, and offer only filtered internet access. Wireless access is available on the third floor of the library.
The Main Branch hosts a variety of programs and storytimes for kids and families.
