My daughter a had great experience whenever she visit Boone children's gallery.

The new "mini" Boone Gallery is now located in the main museum (Hammer Bldg). This is pertinent information because 1) You need a museum ticket and 2) your child must be quiet in museum. Be sure to sign your kid up for NextGen... it's free and includes one free adult pass per visit. The actual Boone is basically a really cool painting space and the staff was super friendly. However, there was a security guard stationed at the door and when the kids (3 girls) started giggling, the security guard told us we would have to quiet them down or leave. Strange that a children's museum is asking kids to, well, not be kids. We still had a great time - just warn the kids to have "museum voices."

My 11-year-old daughter and I visited the Gallery after the Tut exhibit. She had a blast! We were there for 2 1/2 hours and she would've liked to have stayed longer. Ü We wrapped a Mummy, made amulets, drew ourselves as Pharaohs, made our names in hyroglyphs, colored with chalk, and painted on the wonderful, big easels. We were there on a Wednesday in October, and basically nobody else was there, except us... until a fifth grade class came in. They all seemed to have a great experience too. Every town should have such a terrific place for kids and families to have fun. It is absolutely free and open all but three days of the year. I'm interested in returning in March, when we're off track again. Ü
