Born 2 Swim. AWESOME AQUATIC SCHOOL!!! 1955 NW 108 Avenue Miami, FL 33172 305.437.7946 I have had nothing but an outstanding experience with them. I was referred to them by a friend who had her kids with Yazmin prior to the opening of the indoor facility, and her experience was great. I am a parent of a special needs child who had severe sensory issues. He was 2 years old and still not walking, he was scared to death of the water, and swimming was recommended by his physical and occupational therapists as an additional tool to help these issues. I called and spoke with Yazmin in April 2010. I explained to her my reservations and my concerns regarding the swimming classes for my son. She not only listened and eased my stress in explaninig the program thouroughly, but she was also warm and understanding to my childs needs. She made every effort to ennsure that this was a pleasent experience for my son and myself. Each week, we she would work with my sons sensitivity and would think of new ideas to work with my child. She even took it upon herself to ask another parent who specialized in occupational therapy for advise so she could ensure we were taking the right approach. No other swim school I have encountered would have taken the time to care so much. Our experience was so remarkable that I continued daily classes for a year, and it was worth every penny!! My son is now 3 years old, and his sensory have significantly diminished thanks to the pool and these remarkable instructors. He is now finally walking, a milestone we didnt know when we would ever achieve. He has made so much progress and I could not be happier. The staff she has in place is absolutely outstanding. Mari (in the reception area) is an absolute GEM! If only she could be cloned!! Each time I come in for classes we are greeted with a smile by whomever is working the reception area. When you call, its the same welcoming warmth you get. My son has been taking classes with Eric for quite some time, and gets happy everytime he walks in the building. I have NEVER had any issue with the staff. When my son gets in the pool, he is typically greeted by each instructor at some point. Its quite nice to see.. Whomever is under the impression that this group takes children's lives for granted must be very confused. There has NEVER been an instance where I have witnessed any lack of care or professionalism, Furthermore, Yazmin holds her academy to a very high standatd. She would never allow any child's life to be put at risk. I have yet to encounter any instructors who possess any lack of care. I do understand that different people have their own teaching style, and we may not always be in agreement with what the classes entail versus what our expectations may be. I do strognly believe that as a parent we need to take a different approach as well. Its not about abandoning your child in the pool, its about allowing your child to learn to survive. I am just as guilty of having that controlling motherly instinct, but by letting go a litte and reminding myself that this is for my childs best interest. I strongly recommernd that. We do an injustice to our children when we do not teach them to learn how to survive.

.Hands down, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND "BORN 2 SWIM AQUATIC ACADEMY" to train ANY CHILD how to swim. Their number is 305-278-SWIM and their website is www.born2swim.net. My 4 year old "ADHD" little girl had been through 3 different swim schools prior to MY deciding to commit to Born 2 Swim's DAILY PRIVATE SURVIVAL LESSONS because I simply didn't want to go EVERYDAY, Monday-Friday but OMG, what a TRULY AMAZING experience I had. Lets begin by noting that NONE of the other swim schools allowed me to watch the lessons because they felt that the kids did better without the distraction of a parent but NOT THIS ONE. It was quite the contrary, they REQUIRE an adult to be present ALL THE TIME. Their philosophy is "your child didn't make the decision to take swimming lessons, YOU DID. Therefore, how can making a child do something that they DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO, with a STRANGER and someone they DON'T WANT TO DO IT WITH be a rewarding experience WITHOUT at the very least, the positive verbal & visual support of someone the child is familiar with. I won't lie and tell you that going everyday didn't get tiring and that none of the kids cried but... the GENUINE patience & love for kids that the instructors had was awe inspiring and I am FINALLY able to enjoy the water with my little diva. The fact is that I NEVER UNDERSTOOD why my daughter couldn't learn to swim because in my memory swimming lessons were fun but I now understand that MOST KIDS are just afraid of the UNKNOWN and WE as parents have UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS of what our kids are capable of. Don't make the same mistake that I did and spend years wasting your time & money because it's not worth it. COMMIT TO YOUR CHILD & THE REWARDS ARE PRICELESS!
