Boston Bike Tours offers sightseers the wheel deal on low impact, guided, bicycling tours of Boston, Cambridge, and beyond. Eight tour options are offered, including trips around Harvard Square, the
Freedom Trail, and following Paul Revere's Ride. Tours last from two to four hours. Tours begin at $35 per person and include bicycle, helmet, water, and map. Tours run April through October, Sat & Sun at 11am. Meet on the Boston Common near the Visitors Information Center. Check the website for tour schedule.
Boston Bike Tours also offers private tours; call for reservations. Bike rentals are available but must be reserved in advance.
Boston Bike Tours delivers the bikes to hotels or other locations. Bike rentals are $25 per day; $70 for three days; or $100 for one week. Cyclists can cover a lot of ground on a bike because Boston is a relatively compact (and flat!) city. Be sure to consider your child's biking ability and energy level before embarking on this tour. While it does make frequent stops, it is still a fairly ambitious tour for a child who's not up for it.
