Another walking tour? No way, Mom and Dad! What's a parent to do? Is there a tour out there that doesn't require hours of walking; one that the kids will enjoy? We think we've found one. Boston By Foot conducts several walking tours that explore specific Boston neighborhoods, and it offers one tour especially for children called Boston By Little Feet. This walking tour explores the architecture and history found along the historic Freedom Trail. Tour guides encourage children to ask questions and to think about the evolution and growth of the city over time. The tour is directed at children ages 6 to 12; although some guides feel it's the kids ages 8-10 who really get it. Aside from the learning that takes place, the big plus is the duration of the walk - one hour. Your kids will thank you and so will their little feet!
tips:
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Check out its other tours on the web; kids may also enjoy the Waterfront and Boston Underground tours.
