The Boston Massacre Site, a stop on the Freedom Trail, is the spot where the British clashed with an unruly mob on March 5, 1770. A star within a ring of cobblestones below the east balcony of the Old State House commemorates the first "blood shed" of the American Revolution. The most well-known of the colonists who lost their lives that day was Crispus Attucks, the first black patriot. Aside from its location on the Freedom Trail there may not be a compelling reason to take the kids here; especially younger children. Junior history buffs may find the site interesting.
