The
Boulder Dam Hotel can thank its existence - and its status on the
National Register of Historic Places - to the Hoover Dam. It was built in the early 1930's to accommodate government employees and corporate project managers. The list of dignitaries, celebrities, and politicians who have visited in years since is impressive.
Today the Dutch Colonial-style building features
21 rooms and suites. Children are welcome, although maximum occupancy in rooms ranges from two to four people; this is not the place for large families. Portable cribs and cots are available upon request, and
free breakfasts are provided each morning.
The hotel's first floor is a great place to begin your
education about the Hoover Dam: It houses the fascinating
Boulder City & Hoover Dam Museum.
