A 56-acre land laboratory for students from preschool through adult in the Bloomfield Hills School District, the Bowers School Farm also has year-round open-barn days on the third Saturday of April, May, September, and October, with activities for the public.
Residing at the farm are animals typical of a working farm. Sheep, cattle, horses, and a donkey graze the pastures. There is also poultry of all types, rabbits, goats, pigs, and ponies.
For a nominal fee, guided tours of the facilities and animals are available for families, groups, and school classes.
Barn parties are available at the farm. Call Bloomfield Recreation at 248.433.0885 for information.
