Exhibiting American art in a 19th-century grist mill, the
Brandywine River Museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of Wyeths and its fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting.
Audio tours are available during normal museum hours for $3. Guided tours of the
N.C. Wyeth House & Studio and
Kuerner Farm are offered from early April to late November for the cost of Museum admission plus $5. (Children under age six are not permitted on the Wyeth House & Studio tours.)
The
Museum Restaurant, overlooking the Brandywine River, offers lunch and refreshments with menu items including freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade soups, hot entrées, vegetarian meals, salads, wines, and regional microbrews. Museum admission is required for restaurant access.
A variety of
programs for families are offered throughout the year. Events include the Free Sunday Mornings in March, June, and September, and weekend and summer workshops.
