Built in 1948, the
Brentwood Country Mart was intended as the Westside's version of LA's famous Farmer's Market. It has been meticulously preserved to maintain its cozy, old-fashioned ambiance.
Some shops worth visiting are the trendy British girls' clothing boutique
Jigsaw Junior and the appropriately named
Toy Crazy.
In addition to fun shops, bakeries, and food stalls, the market is also home to a small post office and barber shop that feel like they're straight out of
The Andy Griffith Show; the coin operated rides just outside the door, help make the
Mart Barber Shop a fun place for a kid's cut.
There are two patios (including the one with the quarter-driven rides) just the right size for kids - room to explore but not to get lost.
