Bright Water School, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade Waldorf School, is located in the historic St. Nicholas Building next to St. Mark's Cathedral on Capitol Hill in Seattle. The Waldorf curriculum provides a strong academic, artistic, cultural, and practical education that encourages students to develop into creative, balanced, responsible, and freethinking individuals. The school's focus is on nurturing self-confidence and self-reliance, personal integrity, and social and environmental responsibility. In addition to a classic liberal arts curriculum, the grade school program includes Japanese, Spanish, violin, art, drama, handwork, gardening, and physical/movement education. The early childhood curriculum provides the foundation for academic learning. Great care and attention is provided to foster a warm environment that supports and nurtures the imitation and imaginative play that is critical to early development.
