Broadway Bound is Awesome! We found out about them, after they had already had the auditions for the performances. They went ahead and accepted my child and put him in a minor part, which then was expanded to 3 parts. We have attended all of the rehearsals and the Director, choreographer, stage manager, and all the staff at Broadway Bound were very supportive, pleasant, professional, and kind toward myself and my child. My child suffers from ADHD and the staff was very patient and helpful with him. They have boosted his confidence greatly and have helped him to work on his song, dance, and lines. They NEVER once were verbally abusive or mean spirited! I have sat in on several of the rehearsals, and the staff has been pleasant and very helpful to all of the children in the rehearsals. The teaching at Broadway Bound is of the upmost quality! It is amazing to see how the children have grown and how the performances take shape, going from what seems to be chaos to a polished performance. My child is much more confident and looks forward to continuing on in many more performances with Broadway Bound Theater. This is truely at great start for him, as he hopes to be in television and other acting as he grows. It has been wonderful to see him blossom and to see his excitement for acting. Broadway Bound Children's Theatre has the potential to be great. If you've been to one of their shows, that's what you will see. They have expert staff and the final production is professional. The teaching style, however, is such that I would strongly caution you before signing up your child in this program.

While many children's theatre programs are based on rising self-esteem or helping children flourish, Broadway Bound is based on outcomes. My child, who enrolled in one of their shows, faced verbal abuse on a day-to-day basis. The director expected perfection, and if perfection was not found, my child would be humiliated publicly, in front of their peers, and shamed into feeling like crap, for lack of a better word.

My child was not the only one facing this kind of �teaching style.� Many children were the targets of the director�s, stage manager�s, and choreographer�s rants. These children are being scared into obeying the Broadway Bound staff. While this may give Broadway Bound a polished performance to show an audience, my child and I have absolutely no loyalty towards Broadway Bound.

Many children�s theaters have extremely beneficial results without tormenting children. These theaters keep clients (yes, clients, I paid $700 for my child to be yelled at and shamed) loyal to them by making people feel good. Broadway Bound made my child feel awful. The director threw them breadcrumbs of praise before shooting them down. This happened at every rehearsal, twice a week.

My child took an anxiety test recently. It measured their anxiety over different things. Everything was normal, except for �Public social humiliation,� which skyrocketed far past the area where it is clinically significant. If Broadway Bound is trying to scare children, they�ve found the right method. Until they change that method, stay far, far away.
